Harvest 2001
To My Friends:
We are a long way from writing the history of the harvest of 2001. One thing I can tell you for sure is that there are a lot of people, growers and wineries hoping for a smaller than normal harvest. That said, let it be known that it started on the North Coast August 20th. Ten to fourteen days ahead of 2000. At this early vantage point, the quality looks very good. We don't have enough information to judge size. Enclosed is a photo of the Blue Rock Chardonnay being whole cluster pressed at Benziger Family Winery. Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier coming in today...
